Demonstrable AI literacy. Based on a testable standard.
Since 2 February 2025, Article 4 of the EU AI Act requires every organisation that uses or provides AI to ensure a sufficient level of AI literacy among its staff. SAIG issues the standard that literacy must meet, and certifies the individuals who satisfy it.
The context
The institute
SAIG is an independent institute. We issue the standard for AI literacy and certify the individuals who meet it. We do not provide training ourselves and we do not act as a supervisor — those roles lie with others.
Not a training provider
We develop the scheme and the assessment. Training is delivered by accredited training partners.
Not a supervisor
Statutory supervision of the AI Act rests with the Dutch Data Protection Authority and sectoral authorities.
Independent scheme owner
SAIG is structured in accordance with international best practice for the certification of persons.
The SAIG scheme
Four levels, one framework.
The depth of assessment increases with the level of responsibility and AI risk.
